GRANDS FONDS. Deep seas. Annie Faivre designed this for Hermès in 1992 and the congregation of carré collectors has been searching for it ever since. Gold-toned mythological creatures rise from aquatic depths across pristine white silk, bordered in blue and red — the kind of imagery that rewards a long look. This is a 90cm pleated silk scarf, and the pleating is precision Hermès, the kind that drapes with weight and intention rather than floating away from the body.

Faivre understood that the ocean holds things we cannot name. This scarf holds that same mystery. Wear it draped over the shoulders of a coat and let the creatures surface. Tie it at your neck and carry the deep with you. Frame it. The faithful will know exactly what they're looking at.
